Legal protection insurance
The traffic legal protection insurance covers the insured person(s) as a vehicle owner, driver, pedestrian and passenger of another type of transportation.
The legal protection usually contains the following areas
- Compensation right
- Insurance right
- Criminal law
- Disqualification from driving
- Contract-juridical disputes connected to traffic
Not included are
- Defense of unjustified compensation claims from traffic accidents (which is covered by the compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance)

If an insured law case is given, the legal protection insurance covers the financial need for the penetration of the legal entitlements of the insured person(s) towards a third party, for example for

- Lawyer’s costs

• Defense of unjustified compensation claims from external-contractual liability (which is covered by the liability insurance)

For private individuals there is the possibility of a private legal protection insurance, a traffic legal protection insurance as well as a combination of both legal protection insurances. The legal protection insurance can be taken out either for an individual or for a family.
